Our History
Girls For God was started in 2011 as a ministry to reach girls in grades 4-8. It quickly grew and expanded to include girls up to 12th grade by the second year. Girls For God is now in its sixth year and is reaching girls of all ages. The curriculum is geared toward 5-8 graders, however is highly adaptable to any group.
Lea Vaverchak is the founder of Girls For God. God has instilled in her heart a passion for girl's ministry. Saved five years ago, she was quickly called to start a girls group within her church, thus, Girls For God was born. Her passion is to expand GFG into churches, schools and homes everywhere, reaching as many girls as possible for Jesus.
Mrs. Vaverchak has her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and her Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision. She was an elementary school teacher for nine years and is currently a freelance writer for David C. Cook Ministries. Lea is married to her husband of six years, John, and has recently taken time away from teaching to focus on her most important job; a stay-at-home mom to her son, Luke and daughter, Lucy.
